I HYDROGEN

Clean energy vectors such as hydrogen will play a key role in transitioning to a net zero future in the form of decarbonising transport and industry.  Hydrogen production is the process of separating hydrogen from other elements in the molecules where it occurs.  For green hydrogen, an electrolysis process powered by an external renewable energy source such as wind or solar is used to separate water into elemental hydrogen and oxygen.  The hydrogen can then be stored locally or distributed to a variety of consumers, for example for fuel synthesis, or for the production of fertilisers and speciality chemicals.

Currently hydrogen production is primarily performed onshore, however, there is increasing interest in offshore hydrogen production and transportation.  Like CO , hydrogen transportation poses several challenges for offshore/subsea infrastructure and pipelines.

With a wealth of expertise in the offshore sector and a commitment to sustainable energy solutions, along with in-house tools such as RenSys, ZETA and IMR, Crondall Energy can help navigate clients through these challenges and provide engineering solutions for their hydrogen projects.

Crondall Energy is investing in research into alternative energy vectors such as hydrogen, e-fuels and compressed air to transport and store energy from existing and future offshore renewable energy developments.
